Recording Training Activity

a. Formal Qualifications

Formal qualifications are generally post secondary certificates, diplomas or degrees issued by an awarding body, which records the achievements of an individual following a standard assessment procedure.

Some countries nominate specific qualifications as being relevant to the financial services industry. For example the Australian Financial Services Regulator (ASIC) maintain a register of approved courses. The Republic of Ireland has similar requirements.

If you work in a country where specific courses must be completed to practice a list will be visible when you add a Formal Qualification.

After you add a formal qualification you may be asked by your employer or the professional association to provide evidence to verify the qualification.

To add a Formal Qualification to your Education Portfolio

1. Sign on to Education Exchange. (Use the Sign in button at the bottom left of this page)
2. Navigate to the Formal Qualification link, located in one the left hand side of the My Details page
3. Either select Add Course or use the Course List to choose a qualification
4. Complete the form provided and Save

b. Continuing Education

Continuing Education is any other training or activity you complete. Continuing Education might include professional reading, attending a presentation or workshop.

Generally you would record activities that your employer or professional association does not conduct.

To add a Continuing Education activity to your Education Portfolio

1. Sign on to Education Exchange
2. Navigate to the Continuing Education link, located in one the left hand side of the My Details page
3. Select Add New Activity
4. Complete the form provided and Save

Important

When you add the details of an activity you may also want to include any CPD points or credits associated with the activity. Check with the person who conducted the activity to find out what CPD points or credits are associated with the activity.

You should check with your professional associations continuing education policy to determine whether the activity contributes to your continuing education requirements.

c. Other Training Activity

When you complete exercises on Education Exchange your training records will automatically updated.

If you attend a workshop or course conducted by your employer or professional association confirm that your Education Portfolio will be updated.
