Education Portfolio

An Education Portfolio is used to record information about your qualifications, accreditation and continuing education. This information is used to demonstrate you meet training requirements of employers, professional associations and regulators.

Information in your Education Portfolios can be shared with more than one organisation. Instead of maintaining separate qualification and continuing education records, an Education Portfolio allows you to record the information once and 'share' the data with
  • an employer
  • a professional association
  • an industry or regulatory body.

For example, your employer will need to ensure you are trained and will provide training and a development plan.

This information might be shared (with your permission) with a professional association you belong to.

If your attendance at meetings and workshops run by a professional association, this activity can be recorded in your Education Portfolio and made available to your employer.

Instead of having to provide different reports both your employer and your professional association an Education Portfolio can be used by both organisations to monitor your progress as required.

These organisations can post training and information about upcoming workshops and courses on your Education Portfolio, so you have a central point for accessing and recording activities.

Key Features of an Education Portfolio

1. Simple Record Keeping

Update your Education Portfolio as you complete formal qualifications, participate in professional development activities and training. Training activities created in Education Exchange Creator can be completed and results recorded in your Portfolio.

Formal qualifications and continuing education entries are recorded and classified against your professional association’s competency categories, so you can demonstrate compliance with membership requirements.

If your Portfolio is linked to an Education Exchange webLMS account, Learning Events, (on-line exercises and assessments), can be added to your Portfolio by the administrator of your account.

2. Explore Training Opportunities

Your Workshop Calendar lists scheduled Workshops, Courses and Roadshows.

Participating employers, fund managers, product providers, training organisations and professional associations can make calendars available. You decide which calendar events are to appear on your calendar.

3. Timely Notifications

Your account can be configured to notify you as training becomes available, when events are scheduled which you have expressed an interest in attending, or when the the closing date for the activity approaches.
