Before You Begin
The next series of pages are designed as an introduction to creating and deploying an on-line examination.
This introduction assumes no previous knowledge of Education Exchange Creator.
Preparation
While publishing examinations and training on-line may solve a distribution problem, students completing on-line exams and training can become frustrated while completing the activities you create when;
- all outcomes of the assessment process have been considered and are communicated to participants.
- your audience cannot access the information they need to complete the assessment
- What is the assessment for?
- How do I get any assessment resources and material?
- When does the examination need to be completed?
- What happens if something goes wrong?
- What will happen after the training is completed?
- What happens if I fail? Will re-sits be allowed? If so how many?
- What happens if they continue to fail, or if they never pass?
When training is completed remotely, no one is available to address issues that occur during the exercise.
For example an ambiguous question which might be able to be resolved easily in a classroom is very frustrating in an on-line assessment when there is no-one on hand to resolve it.
Planning and testing are critical components when you are delivering content to a remote audience.
Consider questions your students might have.
While Education Exchange Creator includes functions that can help you address many of these questions, there is no substitute for planning and testing your program.
The next few pages work through these issues and highlight functions in Education Exchange that allow you to address them.
